Homeschooling is both rewarding and challenging. Homeschooling is not a job for the weak, and long suffering is often required. Life issues, criticisms, curriculum choices and a dozen other factors all play a role in the challenges of this call. Unconditional love for our children and the goal of glorifying God is the driving force that pushes us to run our race well.
Driven, Passionate, Called, Anointed (Homeschooling Mother)
What pushes you to keep going even on the most difficult days? I believe it is an anointing and the call of God. It is a calling when even on the worst day there is nothing else you would rather be doing. No matter how much you think about giving up something on the inside of you just can’t quit. I believe that driving force is the unction of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 22:6 – Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Deuteronomy 11:19 – And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
As a Christian homeschool mom you are doing more than just educating your children. You are fulfilling a great divine purpose. I want to encourage you to never take your call lightly or for granted. Others may not understand, but that is because it is not their call. God has a plan for you, your children and family. Homeschooling may very well be the catalyst that drives you forward into the will and plans of God for your life. I am reminded of the words of David:
Psalm 139:14-18 King James Version (KJV)
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
God has always known us, our spouses and children. He has a plan that is beyond our finiteness and what we can see in the here and now. Don’t get discouraged by what is in front of you. Have faith in God for the unseen plan that is yet to come into fullness. Trust Him that in due time and season you will understand the appointment which you have been given. You are making a difference as a homeschooling mother. So many people today see children as a burden. It is a blessing that many homeschooling mothers realize that their babies are a blessing from the Lord.
If you are struggling today here are a few suggestions:
Listen to worship music
Do something fun with the kids and or your spouse
Do something just for you (exercise, long bath……)
God bless you and be encouraged!
